Nyabwala has ten years’ experience in the tech ecosystem, having worked for leading tech companies in Africa.

He is the immediate former Global Head of Logistics at MarketForce and an ex-founder of one of the leading logistics startups in Africa, Bwala. His journey started with the launch of OLX in Africa as a product ambassador.

He quickly rose through the ranks to be the Head of Insights in Africa. The CEO then joined Copia Global as the Head of Strategy and Customer Growth and later founded logistics startup Bwala.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Kennedy to our team,” ElevateHR co-founder and board chair Mark Karake said.

“His track record of success in driving growth, innovation and leadership in tech companies will be instrumental in taking ElevateHR to new heights,” Karake added.

“One of the signs of a growing ecosystem is when we begin to find amazing individuals with the right experience to work with. Nairobi’s startup scene is on a march.”

ElevateHR is a cloud-based HR management platform built by young Africans.

The modern HR system is designed to seamlessly integrate various HR functions for both administrators and employees, providing a seamless approach to HR management. ElevateHR offers modules in payroll, salary advance, leave management, and performance management, among others.

“It’s amazing how many organisations are still using paper-based processes for information such as personal details, time-off requests, performance, salary amendments and payroll changes,” said Nyabwala after his appointment.

“Our platform can help reduce the bottlenecks in a bid to equip the human resource team to concentrate on their key functions.”

Common HR problems facing businesses include payroll processing, which is done on Excel; leave management; performance and appraisal; onboarding; and offboarding, among other tasks that are manual.

The latest data indicate that HR spends more than 40 percent of their time on repetitive tasks as a result of manual operations, which are time-consuming, inefficient, and expensive.
