Kenyan Fintech Company Data Integrated Receives Official Approval to Operate as a Payment Service Provider from CBK

Data Integrated Ltd., a Kenyan tech company that develops digital solutions for the public transport sector and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has received official approval from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) to operate as a Payment Service Provider (PSP). This is a significant achievement for the company, as it allows it to further expand its MobiTill solutions and continue its mission of revolutionizing the public transport sector and contributing to the broader goal of financial inclusion.

Data Integrated Ltd. was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. The company has developed a number of innovative solutions, including:

  • Mobility as a Service (MaaS): A technology-driven platform that tailors to all participants in the public transportation ecosystem, including bus companies, matatu proprietors, passengers, regulatory bodies, and affiliated partner organizations. The platform is designed to elevate service quality and optimize operations.
  • MobiTill: An all-in-one payment solution that accepts most forms of payment, including card (VISA and MasterCard), NFC, mobile money, and cash. MobiTill also provides a system with financial accountability features for merchants, such as summary and detailed reports, inventory management, and tracking of transactions.

Data Integrated Ltd. has received investment from Mobility 54 Investment SAS (“Mobility 54”), a corporate venture capital firm dedicated to investing in and financing mobility-related start-ups in Africa.
