Jobtech Alliance has invested in Flowcart and Bumpa, two platforms that address the operational complexity constraining micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Africa.
Flowcart organises informal supply and distribution, while Bumpa stabilises day-to-day merchant operations.
Together, they enhance productivity, reduce stockouts, streamline transactions, and make income more predictable for the millions of Africans whose livelihoods depend on small businesses.
Flowcart (formerly Sukhiba) captures ordering conversations that already happen on WhatsApp and converts them into structured records for distributors and brands.
By tracking repeat orders, basket size, and payment behaviour, the platform turns everyday trade into reliable data that lenders can underwrite.
As of August 2024, Flowcart was serving over 35,000 SMEs across eight markets.
Bumpa serves as the operating system for merchants selling across WhatsApp, Instagram, and other channels.

It consolidates orders, payments, inventory, and delivery into a single dashboard, eliminating manual reconciliation and fragmented tools. By 2025, Bumpa was supporting over 100,000 businesses and managing millions of orders.
The investments stem from Jobtech Alliance’s landscape scan of digital services for microenterprises, which identified augmentation, thus improving how entrepreneurs run existing businesses, as the highest-impact opportunity.
In a continent where 97% of MSMEs are microenterprises and the informal sector accounts for over 80% of jobs, tools that reduce chaos and increase predictability directly support job creation, income stability, and economic resilience.
Mide Alonge of Jobtech Alliance noted that platforms respecting existing behaviours, such as WhatsApp-based commerce and local agent networks, deliver the greatest traction, while clean transaction data opens pathways to credit for women-led businesses that face a $42 billion financing gap.
Both companies have moved beyond early testing and are now focused on scale. Flowcart is embedding credit using reorder and payment data, while Bumpa is expanding its paying merchant base in Kenya with clear 30-day activation targets.
