London-based fintech startup LemFi has secured a significant $53 million in Series B funding, led by Highland Europe. This latest injection of capital brings LemFi’s total funding to $85 million, fuelling its ambitious plans to disrupt the global remittance landscape.

Founded in 2020 by former OPay executives Ridwan Olalere and Rian Cochran, LemFi has quickly gained traction, boasting over 1 million active users and processing an impressive $1 billion in monthly payment volume across 27 send-from markets and 20 send-to countries.

The company’s rapid growth is particularly evident in its Asian corridor, where it generates a substantial $160 million in monthly transaction volume (TPV) and maintains a remarkable 30% month-on-month growth rate.

After a brief position as Uber Country Manager, they combined their expertise in fintech and payments to build LemFi, a platform designed to make financial services accessible to all.
