President Ruto Dismisses Entire Cabinet Except Prime CS Mudavadi

In a surprising move, Kenya’s President William Ruto has taken the decision to dismiss almost all of his cabinet ministers in response to the recent anti-government protests that have shaken the nation.

Amidst the unrest and calls for his resignation, President Ruto announced the shakeup during a televised address on Thursday.

The only position unaffected by the changes is that of the deputy president, while even the attorney general has been relieved of his duties. President Ruto emphasized that the decision was made after careful consideration and in response to the concerns expressed by the people of Kenya.

He expressed his intention to form a more inclusive and broad-based government through extensive consultations with various sectors and political groups.

Despite the drastic changes at the top level of government, President Ruto assured the public that the operations of the government will continue without interruption, with principal secretaries and other relevant officials taking charge.

The protests, which initially erupted over a finance bill increasing taxes, have escalated over the past three weeks and resulted in tragic consequences, including the loss of over 40 lives.

The demonstrations have turned into widespread demands for President Ruto’s resignation, highlighting the depth of the public’s discontent.

The nation now awaits the outcome of the consultations and the formation of a new government, hoping for a resolution that will address the challenges faced by Kenya and provide a path towards stability and progress.
