1. Access Gemini 1.5 Pro in the Workspace Side Panel
Gemini in the side panel of Gmail, Docs, Drive, Slides, and Sheets will now utilize the advanced capabilities of Gemini 1.5 Pro.
With a longer context window and more advanced reasoning, users can expect a broader range of responses and insightful information. The extended context window allows Gemini to reference larger sets of data, enabling users to quickly access summarised views, suggested prompts, and more.
For instance, users can now request email summaries or retrieve specific information from documents directly within the Workspace side panel, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
The availability of Gemini in the Workspace side panel is initially accessible to Workspace Labs and Gemini for Workspace Alpha users.
It will be rolled out next month on desktops for businesses and consumers through Gemini for Workspace add-ons and the Google One AI Premium plan.

Gemini is introducing new features in the Gmail mobile app to facilitate effortless access to productivity tools on the go:
Summarise Emails: Users can now tap the summarize button within the Gmail app to receive brief views of lengthy email threads, saving time and improving readability.
This feature will be available to Workspace Labs users this month and to all Gemini for Workspace customers and Google One AI Premium subscribers next month.
Contextual Smart Reply: Building on the existing Smart Reply feature, Gemini in Gmail will offer detailed and personalized suggested replies based on the context of email threads, enhancing the efficiency of email communications.
This feature will be available to Workspace Labs users on mobile and web starting in July.
Gmail Q&A: The upcoming Gemini icon in the mobile app will offer helpful options such as “summarise this email,” “list the next steps,” or “suggest a reply.”
Users can utilise these functionalities to extract specific information or receive prompt responses, streamlining email management. Gmail Q&A will be available to Workspace Labs users on mobile and web starting in July.
