ZSystems Lands $1.65M to Streamline Procurement and Inventory Across Morocco

Morocco-based B2B2C marketplace ZSystems has secured US$1.65 million in seed funding.

The round, announced on April 8, 2026, was led by Azur Innovation Management, with follow-on participation from existing investors MNF Ventures and Witamax, and new backing from the Harambeans Prosperity Fund marking the fund’s first international institutional investment in the company.

This brings ZSystems’ total funding to US$2.7 million, following an earlier pre-seed round supported by MNF Ventures, Witamax, CASHPLUS Ventures, and Kalys Ventures.

The company, founded in 2022 by Samer Choumar, Meriem Benabad, Youssef Haddouch, Reda Nebri, and Youssef Drafate, operates a unified digital platform that connects brands, wholesalers, and retailers within Morocco’s estimated US$40 billion retail distribution sector.

Addressing Inefficiencies in Morocco’s Retail Distribution Sector

Morocco’s retail distribution sector remains highly fragmented, with traditional procurement processes characterised by limited pricing transparency, manual inventory management, and inefficient supply chain coordination.

ZSystems addresses these pain points by providing an end-to-end digital commerce infrastructure that enables:

  • Real-time visibility into product availability and pricing.
  • Streamlined ordering and procurement workflows.
  • Improved inventory management and demand forecasting.
  • Enhanced coordination across the entire value chain from brands and wholesalers to retailers.

The platform reduces operational friction, lowers costs, and improves efficiency for all participants, particularly small and medium-sized retailers that previously relied on fragmented, paper-based systems.

Use of Proceeds and Growth Strategy

The fresh capital will be deployed across three core areas:

  • Product Development: Enhancing platform features, user experience, and backend capabilities to support higher transaction volumes and more complex supply chain needs.
  • Network Expansion: Scaling the merchant and supplier base to increase coverage and liquidity across Morocco’s retail ecosystem.
  • Logistics and Operations: Strengthening delivery infrastructure, fulfilment capabilities, and overall operational efficiency to support faster and more reliable service.

ZSystems is also supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Star Venture programme and utilises cloud infrastructure from Amazon Web Services, which further bolsters its technical scalability and operational resilience.

Investor Confidence and Market Positioning

The participation of Azur Innovation Management as lead investor, alongside continued support from MNF Ventures and Witamax and the entry of the Harambeans Prosperity Fund, reflects growing institutional confidence in digital solutions targeting Morocco’s large and fragmented retail distribution market.

This round positions ZSystems to play a leading role in modernising regional retail commerce by digitising traditionally offline processes and creating a more transparent, efficient B2B2C marketplace.

The company’s focus on North Africa’s high-value retail sector aligns with broader trends of supply chain digitisation across the region.
